Doesn't work with Windows 11

This scanner does not work properly with Windows 11. On multiple lap tops (Lenovo ThinkPad X1 (one is 3 years old, the other is 3 months old) it does not work as claimed. You will get an error message on your lap top "An error has occurred while communicating with the scanner. Close the application and reconnect the scanner." Doing as requested makes no difference. It does not work.

Excellent small-footprint scanner

Great piece of equipment. I’ve wanted a good, small scanner for more than a year. The small scanners I bought from three other companies were mediocre quality and failed way too soon. This Canon unit is heavier than those other units, but that’s not an issue for me because I won’t travel with it. Excellent software, clear instruction manual, lots of customizable settings, well thought-out physical design, and a dedicated business card scanning slot. Why four stars instead of five? Connection. it has a USB Mini connector on the scanner end and a USB 3.0 connector on the other. USB 3.0 is going away in the Mac world. Since the scanner must plug directly into a computer (no hubs), that limits its utility. I run the scanner on an older laptop with several USB 3.0 ports. A very little bit inconvenient. Hopefully Canon will offer a newer model with USB-C (or later) when the marketing life of this ImageFormula R10 ends.

Good overall, with several annoyances

This scanner was provided by my work to scan various documents and receipts. I've been using it regularly for about 7 months (HP laptop, Windows 11) and overall it works great. Pros: - Nifty tray - Auto feed usually works very well - Double-sided - Auto corrections - Reasonably fast Cons: - All images are scanned ever so slightly crooked (in a way that seems more to be a result of how it optically scans the doc over time rather than the feed mechanism) - Paper auto detect usually not sensitive enough for receipts and other light paper; you have to use your finger to get it to grab on. - CaptureOnTouch Lite software is janky: -- Interface not optimized for hidpi screens; some information gets cut off. -- No way to change scan settings from "auto"—more control would be great. -- You CAN change the file save settings, but it's unnecessarily tedious. -- No way to change orientation of scanned images. -- Software will sometimes analyze an image and auto-rotate it to compensate for crookedness, but occasionally it will take an image that didn't need rotation and rotate it a few degrees just for fun. I tried to compensate for this manually by feeding it with opposite rotation, but no, the software always made sure it ended up rotated the same crooked way. - My file explorer pops up automatically when I turn the scanner on, but my coworker's does not, and we can't figure out why. - You're kinda left on your own to figure out certain features like the card scanner; Canon website's no help either. So yeah, no major issues, it does it's job, but I would hope that a future version (or software update) would address most of these annoying cons.

Works Well

Working well, no software problems with my macbook air. A bit slow, but that is to be expected for a scanner than runs off of usb-c power. So far so good!

Buyer Beware!

Difficult to connect; randomly disconnects once connected (at least 65% of the time). I travel 1-3 times a month and though this would be a great tool but it has proven to be an embarrassment. It is 100% more efficient to use the can feature on my phone
