Pretty applique

I purchased this in black. When I opened the package, I was happy. It looked so attractive - not too gaudy like some heart designs. But I bought my size - medium - and it kind of fit, but was so clingy to the skin, that no matter what black pants I put on with it, it did not look good. I have a lot of different styles of black pants - casual, dressy, etc. It may have looked better in a large (which I never wear). It is too small for a medium. I still like the design, but not so much the material. If it was a bit thicker and a true medium, I would definitely keep it. Part of me wants to order a large (in the blue this time so I could just wear it with jeans), but it went up in price. I have to return it.
