So much potential, but...

Adding boiled eggs to salads and snacks is my favorite way to add protein to a meal. This cooker works great from the moment you turn it on; however, I had no idea you had to poke a hole in each egg before you even turn the unit on. I've used this twice now and love the final result, but each time I try to puncture a whole with the dull punch, I end up cracking 2-3 of the 7 eggs. Not sure it's worth the waste of eggs.

Measuring cup Is useless

Cooks egg beautifully. BUT pin in bottom of measuring cup projects beyond the bottom of the cup. Cup cannot sit flat to measure water, so measuring cup is useless!

Terrible experience — unsafe and defective

I’m extremely disappointed with the Cuisinart Egg Cooker CEC-10. The alarm at the end never went off, and the unit started to smell burnt while in use. When I opened it, there was black plastic inside the cooker that appeared to be melting or boiling. This feels unsafe and poorly designed. I expected much better quality from Cuisinart. I would not recommend this product.

Best ever

Best countertop appliance ever. Convenient to use. Excellent cooking performance. Just bought the second cooker to replace an old model. Easy to clean. Use it weekly.

I have owned two Cuisinart egg cookers. Both began to leak after a couple of years. They both were thrown in the trash. I don't think I'll buy another Cuisinart egg cooker.

Can't do without

This is the only way to cook eggs. Easy to cook, easy to peel, easy to store and ready to eat. We use it two times a week we had our first one many years, and replaced with this same brand.

Eggzactly what I was hoping for.

I’ve only had this Cuisinart Egg Cooker for a few weeks and so far so good. I mainly bought it to make hard boiled eggs so I haven’t tried the other egg recipes like poached eggs. This cooker is very easy to use. Everything you need is in the box. The measuring cup tells you exactly how much water to use so don’t use less or more than indicated. One thing I missed initially was that the plastic piece covering the metal piercing needle on the bottom of the measuring cup simply comes off by holding it and giving a slight twist and tug. The needle is very sharp. I found it’s easier to use the needle to pierce the bigger end of the egg. I found it best to place the needle on the bigger end and then gently twist the needle back and forth until you puncture the egg. A small hole is all you need. If the hole is too large egg will spurt out during cooking so try to make a pinprick hole. When the eggs are in place just put the top on and turn the Cooker on. It will beep when the eggs are done. Turn the cooker off and unplug it. Remove the lid and place the eggs in a bowl full of water and ice cubes. Let the eggs cool. Remove perfect hard boiled easy to peel eggs. Note on cleaning-The instructions suggest it’s best to use distilled water in the cooking process. I use tap water and inevitably there is a brown residue left in the cooker. That residue is easy to clean with a sponge and some dish detergent. I’ve also used Bio-Clean or Barkeepers Helper, gently rubbing for cleaning the residue. I’d recommend this egg cooker for its design, quality and ease of use. I think its a good value for someone like me who uses eggs regularly in my diet.
