Runs Small or miss tagged

The shoes were awesome looking, but missed sized. I wear a true 9.5, which I ordered. They arrived within a few days and when I opened the package I was very pleased with their looks. When I went to try them on I could not get my foot into the shoes. I cheched the size in the shoes and on the box and they both stated 9.5.I don't know if this is a Lacoste thing or just a freak incident.
