Returned - Waiting for refund

Unfortunately, I tried on the glasses when I got home and they were uncomfortable. I returned the item, and have been waiting on my refund - apparently, the store is not authorized to refund payments on the Macys Card. I didn't know that, and the sales person didn't tell me. She insisted that (1) I could only get a discount if I used the Macys card, and (2) it was ok if I wanted to pay off the account simultaneously. Now, my cash is in purgatory for an unclear period.
