More a blanket than a comforter

I've had numerous down comforters before, and was expecting this one to be the same cozy, high-loft, bedding as those. Instead, it's a heavy, flat, blanket-type covering, which doesn't provide a whole lot of warmth. It's disappointing and, for the price, I expected a lot more.
