Great product
I purchased this new model for my wife last month because I already have a Subterra 1 and it’s just perfect. I just find that they may be a bit expensive.

Awesome Suitcase
I am currently travelling with my new Subterra 2 suitcase and I love it. It rolls and spins like a dream. I appreciate the thoughtful features such as the section that is accessible from the outside, and the grip handle on the bottom. It looks great and stands out among other cases (handy at the luggage carousel). I am very happy with my purchase!

Love this bag!!!
I bought this carry on bag for a trip to Mexico. It held everything I needed for a 6 day trip. It is so light and the spinner wheels make all the difference!

Excellent option.
I used this luggage for a two week trip thru the UK and was very pleased. The luggage material held up well and the wheels handled all manners of sidewalk, streets, tube rides, cobble alleys. The handle is beefy. The interior is nice and has a light colored material so you can find your stuff easier. Get it!!

great new suitcase
Love my new Thule Subterra 2. I just used it on a recent multi-country European trip. As I had quite a diverse itinerary, I needed to pack a lot, and it all fitted well. Love the two compartments. I used my personal packing cubes together with the compression bag. It rolls nicely on the 4 wheels and it managed well on the two wheels on the European cobble streets.

Dreadful Design
Dreadful design, regardless of how you pack it, the front overhang impacts the center of gravity. It spends more time tipping over than standing upright. Because it has an offset center of gravity, this affects its rolling motion. The carrying handles and their placement make it challenging to handle and place in a trunk.

Hello, Thank you for providing your feedback on the Thule Subterra 2 bag. I'm sorry to hear about your frustration with bag, depending on what is packed where in the bag the center of gravity can be too high which can lead to tipping. To avoid this, I recommend putting the heavier items on the bottom of the bag.
Great Design, But Beware of Baggage Handling Dmg
After a decade with my old checked bag, I finally decided it was time for an upgrade. I browsed everything from basic budget options to high-end luxury brands and surprisingly stumbled on the Thule Subterra 2 while looking at camping gear. I didn’t even know Thule made luggage, but this one immediately caught my eye. The design is sleek, modern, and built with quality and function in mind. The materials feel durable, and the layout maximizes interior space with a few thoughtfully placed compartments. The wheels roll smooth and quietly, and the extendable handle is sturdy and stable with no wobbling like I’ve seen with some other well-known brands. I’ve taken it on two trips so far: a cross-country flight and a long-haul to Hawaii. Both trips were 10-14 days and fit a lot. Unfortunately, on the return leg from Hawaii, the bag suffered some noticeable exterior damage. I'm not sure what happened during baggage handling, but it looks like it got snagged or stabbed by something and there's some notable damage to the outer shell. My previous checked bag was also a softer shell but didnt have any outer damage after 10+ years of usage so I'm not sure if this is a one off issue that I encountered or if this is prone to happen to others. It is luggage so I expect some wear and tear over time but sad that it happened on only my 2nd trip but that's life. Despite this, I’m still impressed. It’s functional, stylish, and well designed.

Beer belly
Overall, it’s a decent suitcase when it comes to construction quality and materials, but this larger one, the 68 cm one, has one major design flaw. Overall, both the 22 inch and this 27 inch Subterra 2 are both described as “dark slate” which appears more grey in the picture, but is actually green. And as I’m not a fan of green, I would’ve ordered the black. The smaller one is available in a “vetiver gray” but I didn’t get that because the larger one did not come in that color. My color pickiness aside, The larger suitcase has a pretty serious design flaw. Since it is not expandable, they put the girth of the suitcase out in front when standing on the wheels and thus it tips very easily. The smaller one is more evenly weighted over the wheels, but because there is the additional space In the larger one, it protrudes out over the wheels like a beer belly, it has a tendency to tip unless you intentionally, and with a great deal of planning, place all of your heaviest things somehow at either the bottom of the suitcase along the handle or the side with the wheels, the thing will tip over.
